Breathe! Robot, out now

On the 9th of July 2021 the first Single of the Debut Album Morning Mars by Collateral Nature will be released as a WebGL spatial audio Game, a music video and on Tidal and Amazon HD in Dolby Atmos format. From July 16th the track will be available on all streaming platforms.

Breathe! Robot the meaning

Breathe! Robot was composed thinking about the human breath and how little importance we assign to this vital mechanical action full of life force. Not only in life but on a spiritual level it calls for an awareness to differentiate between what is purely human and what is artificial. In the near future it will be increasingly difficult to distinguish the human form from a robot. In the breath we will find the essential distinction of life.

“Breathe! Robot is an invitation to stop for a moment and breathe deeply, to understand the difference between automaton and being aware.”

The song is composed by only using the instruments we use on stage and in the music video (piano, ambient pad, bass and drums). Giving prominence to the dynamics. A dialogue between full and empty and intimate and dilated moments creating a living rhythm. The bass guitar used is Moog controlled by an apple play system then feeded into a Modular Synth.

“Key in the track are the pauses when the breath is released giving a sense of communication between the outer world and the inner emotional experience.”

WebGL Game / spatial audio

The Game Breathe! Robot brings an immersive experience of the single Breathe! Robot. Showing the impact of spatial audio and the possibilities this new way of listening has. In a fun and interactive way you can experience when you move through the game.

Morning Mars

Morning Mars is the new to be released debut album. The album goes from liquid jazz to immersive experiences. After a long break music producer Claudio Vittori returns to the music scene by presenting Collateral Nature’s debut album Morning Mars. The album has ten original tracks of which half are instrumental. The cutting edge album is enriched with immersive contents and produced in stereo, binaural and Dolby Atmos. As for the first ep Smoky backbone in Morning Mars there are many artists involved, the different influences reinforce the uniqueness of the songs while maintaining a common sound language.

Morning Mars opens the dance with a fascinating approach to enjoy music. The album is enriched with Virtual Reality content, immersive sound, webgame and the tuning of some tracks in 432hz like Verdi did. Morning Mars places Collateral Nature as one of the first Italian projects to interact organically with the new digital world. The album will be available autumn 2021.

Collateral Nature the origin

Collateral Nature was born in the early 2010s as a derivative project of the abundant catalog of music ideas of Claudio Vittori an Italian composer / music producer. The music focused on trip hop, electronic, leftfield and liquid jazz. In 2015 the project became concrete with a double album “smoky backbone”. The meaning of Collateral Nature is :“Nature is collateral when it undergoes a distortion, a deep force in its vital course and therefore destined to change.
I imagined a project that could narrate the metamorphosis by choosing the butterfly, a symbol of fragility and elegance,
an interpreter of this distorted nature.” Claudio Vittori is an Italian music producer and sound designer with more than a decade of experience in creating and developing music, sound strategies and sound identities for cultural events.

In the last 3 years Vittori has attended VR AR and spatial audio courses for video games shifting my creative horizon. He started to compose for spatial audio and immersive experiences. Working with clients and agencies around the planet has developed an empathy and a natural way with teams of different sizes, cultures and musical and technical backgrounds.

Breathe! Robot the meaning

Claudio Vittori is the producer of Collateral Nature. He wrote and produced the music and most of the lyrics of the new debut Album Morning Mars. The first single will be released on the 5th of July called Breathe! Robot. But why Breathe! Robot? What is the meaning behind this first single of Morning Mars.

“I composed Breathe! Robot thinking about the human breath and how little importance we assign to this vital mechanical action full of life force. Not only in life but on a spiritual level it calls for an awareness to differentiate between what is purely human and what is artificial. In the near future it will be increasingly difficult to distinguish the human form from a robot. In the breath we will find the essential distinction of life.

Breathe! Robot is an invitation to stop for a moment and breathe deeply, to understand the difference between automaton and being aware.

In our modern society nothing has a clear boundary any more and  when you think you are progressing often you end up in the same place like a hamster with its wheel.

True wealth is to be able to understand the profound meaning that exists between living and surviving and being able to transcend from it. In other words stepping outside of the rat race. We are slaves to the propulsive thrust that we have inflicted on ourselves for decades. We just have to have more and more since the era of technology launched us in a mad rush with ephemeral ambitions. If we keep following this progression we are no longer needed, either the technology or the earth will take over,  so maybe it’s time to start breathing, robot.

I composed the song by only using the instruments we use on stage (piano, ambient pad, bass and drums). Giving prominence to the dynamics. A dialogue between full and empty and intimate and dilated moments creating a living rhythm.

Key are the pauses when the breath is released giving a sense of communication between the outer world and the inner emotional experience.”

Breathe! Robot will be available on the 5th of July 2021 and will be available on all streaming platforms and in both stereo and Dolby Atmos format. Breathe! Robot will also be available in a game format you can play on this website.  If you would like to listen to Breathe! Robot subscribe to our newsletter. You can have a pre-listen.
